Excessive Sweating

Botox (botulinum toxin) is a commonly used treatment for excessive armpit sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis. It works by blocking the signals from nerves that stimulate sweat glands, effectively reducing or stopping sweating in the treated area. The effects usually last for several months.

Cost: £200

What to expect during your excessive sweating treatment?

  • During a free consultation, we can discuss your desires, expectations, and suitability for treatment (including medical history).

  • Prior to having your injectable treatment, you will have a consultation with my prescriber, as botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine and should be prescribed and bought from a reputable pharmacy.

  • Once the treatment is deemed suitable I will purchase your botulinum toxin from the pharmacy and you will be asked to cover the cost of the product as it is prescribed for your use only (this will be deducted from the overall cost).

  • An anrmpit analysis, consultation, and consent forms will be completed on the day of the treatment.

  • The skin will be cleansed with an anti-septic.

  • Injection points will be marked up with a white pencil.

  • Ice will be applied to the injection points (numbing effect - optional).

  • You can choose a couple of stress balls for a sensory distraction (optional).

  • Painless or minimal pain will be experienced as I inject the botulinum toxin.

  • Aftercare will be provided.

  • We will book a review date - this has to be within 2-3 weeks post-treatment (results take 2 weeks).

What to expect after your anti-wrinkle treatments?

  • Weakening of the injected muscles begins to be apparent after 3-5 days with the peak effect being reached after 14 days. This is when you will be due to come back for a review.

  • Results can last 3-6 months depending on dosage, the area treated, and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and excessive exercise. The procedure can / should be repeated after 3 months

    Pre-care information:

  • It is crucial that you do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours before undergoing Botox injections, as alcohol can thin the blood and increase the possibility of bruising.

  • You should also avoid medications like Blood Thinners, Aspiriin, or Anti Inflammatories for 1 week prior to your treatment.

  • Avoid other facial treatments at least 1 week prior to your treatment.

  • Avoid extensive sun exposure / the use of tanning beds at least 3 days prior to your treatment.
(We obviously advise that you stop using tanning beds altogether because they increase your risk of skin cancer and accelerate visible signs of aging).

  • Likewise, avoid Hair Removal (to the area you are receiving Botox) at least 1 week prior to your treatment.
(Whether that be Waxing, Threading, Laser, or Cream – Shaving is okay if done gently ensuring no nicks).

Helpful tips to minimise bruising:

  • As mentioned above avoid medications like Blood Thinners, Aspiriin, or Anti Inflammatories for 1 week prior to your treatment.

  • Drink pineapple juice to help prevent bruising
