Indian Head Massage

What is an Indian Head Massage?

Indian Head Massage is a deeply relaxing and restorative treatment that focuses on the head, neck, shoulders, upper back, and face. Rooted in ancient Ayurvedic practices from India, this treatment has been used for thousands of years to promote physical and emotional wellbeing. Using a combination of gentle kneading, pressure point techniques, and soothing strokes, Indian Head Massage helps to relieve tension, ease headaches, and calm the mind.It can be performed with or without oils, depending on your preference.

What to expect during your Indian Head Massage?

  • The therapist will use a combination of gentle kneading, rhythmic pressure, and soothing strokes across your upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, and face.

  • Specific pressure points on the head and face are stimulated to ease tension, improve circulation, and calm the nervous system.

  • You may feel deeply relaxed, sometimes even slightly sleepy, as stress and tightness melt away.

  • If oils are used, these are typically applied to the scalp and hair for added nourishment — but this is entirely optional.
