Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Massage

What is Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage is a therapeutic treatment designed to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Using slow, firm pressure, this technique focuses on areas of tension, stiffness, and chronic muscle pain to help release built-up stress and restore movement. Trigger Point Therapy is often included within a deep tissue massage. It involves applying focused pressure to specific ‘knots’ or tight spots in the muscle, known as trigger points, which can cause pain both locally and in other areas of the body (referred pain).By working on these points, we help reduce pain, improve muscle function, and relieve discomfort caused by tension, injury, or poor posture.

What to expect during your Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Massage?

  • You’ll be made comfortable on a massage bed, with towels used to preserve your privacy at all times.

  • The therapist will use a combination of slow, firm pressure and targeted techniques to work into deeper muscle layers and address trigger points (small, tight areas within muscles that cause discomfort).

  • You may feel some tenderness or discomfort on tight areas or trigger points — this is normal and should ease quickly. Always communicate with your therapist if the pressure feels too intense.

  • The massage focuses on problem areas but can include surrounding muscles to support overall balance and tension release.
